NHS website to launch Flu vaccine finder for patients

Written by admin on Friday 11th December 2020

A new community pharmacy flu vaccine service finder will go live onto the NHS.uk Service Finder website page during mid-December

To help patients find pharmacies with flu vaccine stock, a new NHS finder is being launched next week. This will rely on the pharmacy updating their NHS website profile and Directory of Services (DoS).

The NHS website flu vaccine service finder option will be on the 'NHS Service Finder' website page. This tool within the NHS website will help patients to identify pharmacies within their area that can currently offer the flu vaccine.

Your NHS website profile displays whether your pharmacy can offer the flu vaccine this year. You should update your profile if you can no longer offer the service – e.g. because vaccine stocks within your pharmacy are exhausted.

To update your NHS website pharmacy profile:

  • go to NHS.uk website page:
  • click the ‘Profile editor login’  option - available within the footer of each nhs.uk website page
  • enter your pharmacy login details and change the flu vaccine availability setting.

Registered profile editors will receive an email confirming the launch date closer to the time of the launch.

If you are not yet registered, please see the recent CPSC news article providing more information on this new function:

Action Required:

  • Register for 'NHS Service Finder'; if you haven't done so already
  • If you have flu vaccination stock – make sure your profile shows you offer the flu vac service
  • If you do not have stock – make sure your profile shows you do not offer the flu vac service
  • Remember to update your profile as your stock levels change
