Workforce training and development bursaries for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians

HEE - South Pharmacy are delighted to let you know that they have bursaries available to support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across our region (Wessex, Thames Valley and South West) by funding specific courses to support workforce development. 

They have the following bursaries available:

Details of the funding available can be found within the following application forms, or in the accompanying leaflet for the advanced clinical practice (pharmacists) and advanced education & training for pharmacy technicians bursaries.

Actions required:

• Please could you cascade to relevant individuals in your teams/networks.
• Please could individuals complete the application forms for the relevant bursaries and send to Pharmacy.South@hee.nhs.uk with the name of the bursary in the subject line by Friday 19^th February 2021. Please ensure all the information is completed and sent by the deadline.

For hospital pharmacy departments: To reduce administration burden, whilst individuals will need to complete the application forms, there should be one contact per employer (e.g E&T lead) who sends application forms for all the different bursaries in one batch to Pharmacy.South@hee.nhs.uk. They should also complete the ‘Hospital Trusts Workforce Development Bursary Application’ Form.

HEE South Pharmacy will review all the applications during w/c 22^nd February, and applicants will be notified of the outcome during w/c 1^st March 2021.

Once accepted, HEE will ask employers to raise invoices ASAP for these funds. 

Please note the bursaries (for PgD, Independent Prescribing, and Pharmacy Technician Education & Training) have to be paid to employers this financial year (i.e. by March 2021). Also note that all bursary funds will be transferred to employers and not directly to HEIs/providers of the training courses.
