PQS Respiratory Domain – Elements that need to be started now

For pharmacies intending to complete the respiratory domain of PQS 22/23
The following criteria included in the Respiratory Domain require pharmacies to start working towards them from Monday (10th October 2022) and continue until their day of declaration (between 9am on Monday 6th February 2023 and 11.59pm on 3rd March 2023):
- Inhaler waste management
- Use of a spacer in patients aged 5-15 years
- Personalised asthma action plans
All of these have been included in previous schemes. Inhaler recycling leaflet can be found in the resources section here:
Spacers
Trudell are offering pharmacies training, training devices, patient information, referral forms and QR stickers which can all help with patient education for spacers.
The Aerochamber plus and Aerochamber Flow-Vu are first line on the local prescribing formulary.
