Onward Referrals to Solent Sexual Health Services

Please ensure you are using the correct Solent Sexual Health Services email to send patient referrals to.
Recently some referrals have been sent to another Solent email address, which whilst secure, the referrals haven’t been seen and actioned in a timely manner.
This email address should not be used for an urgent emergency contraception IUD appointments.
If a Cu-IUD is required, the patient must call the Sexual Health Service on 0300 300 2016 as soon as possible and request emergency contraception IUD. They have a number of same day appointments held open for this.
Patients who are perceived as being “at risk” should also be offered a referral where applicable.
The referral reason might be for any reason including:
- Contraception initiation
- Psychosexual Counselling Service
- Outreach Nursing service
- Sexual Health Promotion Team
- Complex GUM
- Sexual and Reproductive Health
- HIV Services
- Sexual Assault Referral Centre
