NHS Flu Vaccination Service

Start date 11th September
Following the NHS England letter on the 30th August. The start date is now Monday 11th September for all cohorts.
As previously mentioned, any patients already booked in with the pharmacy can still be vaccinated before the 11th September and the service provision can be claimed for then.

Changes to service this year:
- Patients are not required to have an NHS number or be registered with a GP.
- Requirement to share the vaccination details with the patient’s GP is no longer mandatory.
- Use of National Booking System (NBS) to book flu only or flu + covid appointments.
- NBS will be opened for pharmacies to post appointments later in the season.
What you can do now:
- Make sure your Declaration of Competence is up to date ready for the start of the service.
- Update your NHS profile to show you provide the NHS service.
- Start booking appointments for patients from 11th September.
