Naseptin Cream – caution/ avoidance with peanut allergy
Written by AlisonFreemantle on Wednesday 27th July 2022
PIL/ SmPC updated in error
Naseptin cream does still contain arachis oil and so caution/ avoidance still required in patients with peanut allergy. The new formulation will not be available until 2023.
The PIL/SmPC update was done prematurely, and this is currently being rectified. When the new formulation is launched additional communication will be sent out regarding this change, including safety precautions. It is worth noting that the packaging will also be updated to reflect the change in the ingredients.
Please check when dispensing Naseptin cream for any peanut allergy.
