HRT Pre Payment Certificates – A Reminder

Please ensure all scripts where HRT PPC is being claimed for exemption only contain HRT products.

The PPA have received several prescriptions where the patient has multiple medicines on the prescription – both HRT and other medicines not covered by their HRT PPC.

Pharmacies have processed these prescriptions and the patient has both ticked the exemption box on the back and paid for the remaining items.

Unlike scripts for contraception or multiple strength of the same product where a no charge would apply, the PPA are unable to process the dual levy and exemption leading to the scripts being switched to levy for all items.
