The ICS is the partnership of local health and care organisations working together to better join up services to improve the health and wellbeing of people in the communities we serve.
The Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the new NHS-led organisation responsible for developing a plan to meet the health needs of our population and the NHS budget, and replaces Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group and Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group.
The new integrated care system is now legally underpinned by an NHS integrated care board (ICB) and an integrated care partnership, whose task is to drive the delivery of better, more efficient, and joined-up care for patients, improvements in physical and mental health, and reductions in inequalities among the communities they serve.
The ICS has also taken on delegated responsibility from NHSE for community pharmacy services.
