CPPE Pharmacy First ENT Workshop – limited spaces book early

The Pharmacy First ENT Clinical assessment skills workshop is now open for booking:
The Portsmouth workshops will be held on Sunday, 14th January 2024 at the Holiday Inn Portsmouth, Pembroke Road, PO1 2TA .
There is the option of a morning or an afternoon workshop with a maximum of 60 participants per session.
It is essential that participants bring their own otoscopes (required features are in the service specification and shown below)
Annex C: Guidance on selecting an otoscope
Functional Requirements:
- Illumination: LED (preferred) or Halogen light source with adjustable brightness.
- Magnification: At least 3x magnification lens.
- Field of View: Wide-angle lens to provide a broad field of view for comprehensive examination.
- Tip Sizes: A range of disposable tips, from paediatric to adult sizes.
- Focus Adjustment: Manual focus adjustment can be useful for better views.
Design Requirements:
- Ergonomics: Comfortable, non-slip handle suitable for both left and right-handed users.
- Weight: Lightweight for ease of use, particularly for extended periods.
- Material: Durable, medical-grade materials that can be easily cleaned.
- Portability: Option for cordless use can be beneficial for portability.
- Hard case for keeping at least otoscope head, handle and specula.
- Liquid splash resistant
Safety and Compliance:
- UKCE Mark: UKCE mark as a minimum requirement for compliance with UK directives.
- MHRA Approved: Device meets or exceeds the standards laid out by the MHRA.
- ISO Certification: Meeting ISO standards for medical equipment (like ISO 13485) adds an extra layer of assurance.
Additional (Optional) Considerations:
- Warranty: At least a one-year warranty for peace of mind.
- Training Material: User manuals or even online training modules for pharmacy staff.
- Customer Support: Reliable customer support from the manufacturer or supplier in case of issues or queries.
