Please take care when ordering and dispensing
CPSC have had reports of several dispensing errors where the wrong compression has been supplied to the patient.
Please take care when ordering and dispensing the UrgoKTwo compression bandaging system to supply the correct compression level.
When written on a prescription the lower compression of 20mmHg (most commonly prescribed) is written as:
The higher compression of 40mmHg is written as:
The compression is not stated in the name on the prescription.
Reduced compression (20mmHg) (green patches on the box and say reduced in light blue banner) |
|
Full compression (40mmHg) (no green on box) |
District nurses commonly use and can apply the 20 mmHg of compression without a doppler (blood flow) assessment. Useful for when a patient presents with a new leg wound and has no ‘red flags’ to help reduce the number of wounds that develop into leg ulcers.
